ANDY KING admits he does not understand the complexities of administration but hopes it means there is light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.

The Town manager insists it is crucial to remain positive otherwise efforts to same the club will be rendered meaningless.

King said: "I know this decision has not been taken lightly and it has certainly not been taken overnight.

"Long meetings and endless phone calls have been the story.

"I just hope the board have the answers and it gives this football club a chance to find the stability it desperately needs."

King said he would be seeking clarification for himself and his players at the earliest opportunity.

He said: "Those on the football side at this club are on the 'ground level' of the company.

"I think it is important that the players are told just exactly what administration means for the company and for themselves. Bob Holt has promised me that that will happen."

King said the players had shown remarkable professionalism throughout the trials and tribulations so far.

He expects that to continue through the present period of uncertainty.

"There have been a few grumbles here and there but no mass outcry, if you like.

"Once the players know exactly what this process involves, then I expect them to go out on that pitch and continue to give everything for Swindon Town Football Club.

"We have targets to reach before the end of the season and I will not accept anyone giving less than 100 per cent."

"The supporters will no doubt read the headlines and moan 'here we go again' but we just have to show faith in the people who are trying to save this club."

King said he did not possess a crystal ball and it was impossible to say whether administration would herald a new dawn for the club. But one thing the manager is is a fighter.

He said: "I have to believe there is a future for me, my players, the supporters and everyone associated with Swindon Town.

"My message has to be one to be positive. The willingness to succeed is there and hopefully we will come out stronger on the other side."
