ISIS AC held their annual last-day river match as usual at Sutton Benger and the 32 competitors had to put up with storm force winds and heavy rain, which kept catches generally low.
Nigel Smith of the host club managed to overcome the conditions to land 10 of the river's smallish bream to record a fine winning weight of 54-12-0.
He accumulated his weight after a slow start, when he filled his peg in with groundbait and eventually caught on the tip with worm on the hook.
Nigel Sawyer of Rover Coleview took four bream from peg 87 for 26-12-0 on an open end feeder and was followed closely by Vic Abbot (Swindon Isis), who took four bream and a small tench for 25-4-0 ahead of Mick Ash (Chippenham) one bream and a large perch for 11-2-0.
Weights fell then to Nigel Russell (Swindon) 6-1-0 and Howard Carpenter 5-1-0.
