Turkish national Mustafa Altinok, 23, of Manchester Road, admitted theft after being captured on CCTV film walking from Debenhams wearing a cardigan and coat he hadn't paid for.
Judge Tom Longbotham imposed a two-year conditional discharge and ordered he pay £150 costs.
