I notice the council is considering including an attraction called Diggerland at Coate Water.
The justification? It could increase visitor numbers by 100,000.
Bearing in mind there is no formal counting process to say how many people visit Coate Water, how would the council know if there was an increase?
Still, this all sounds familiar, doesn't it remember Steam? 200,000 visitors, then 150,000, now less than 100,000.
Exactly one year ago Coun Eley claimed my scepticism regarding the visitor numbers was misplaced I would like to think he would have the good grace to tender an apology.
As a final thought, I wonder if they are thinking of a company to run this attraction could it be W S Atkins?
