I AGREE with Peter Dore (EA March 19) that the arrangements for gaining entry to the Pipers Way Park and Ride are confusing, being that only traffic approaching from the Wroughton direction has access, this involving a lights-controlled right turn across the south-bound traffic flow on the A4361.
Why on earth could not this point of entry have been a simple left turn off the main road.
Traffic approaching from the south ie Wroughton could have been resited on to the south bound carriageway via the Pipers Way/Croft Rd roundabout.
This would have been perfectly satisfactory, eradicating the need for traffic lights and the consequent interruption of the traffic flow from the Swindon direction.
Some controls might still have been necessary to facilitate exiting but the whole thing could surely have been made so much more simple.
