WHAT is happening in far too many of our schools is frightening, and not just for the pupils.
Swindon assistant head Phil Baker was today telling his union conference of the time he feared for his safety when confronted by an angry parent.
He fears the trend to parental violence is growing and his union, the ATL, wants the Government to take a tougher line
They may be pushing at an open door.
Education secretary Estelle Morris, who was attending the conference, is right when she says that it is the parents who are responsible for much of the yob culture and teenage delinquency sweeping Britain.
For the sake of all our children we hope she backs up her words with deeds.
