ROBERT Taylour (Letters, March 19, It is our duty to uphold the law) misses one important fact.

UK laws are made by governments and MPs who are elected by us and accountable to us.

EU laws are made by commissioners and bureaucrats who are neither elected or accountable.

The British public were never asked if they were happy with power given away to Brussels.

No referendum or debate, nothing. Every time power has been given away, a crime has been committed against the British people.

Every time jobsworths, police or anyone act to enforce EU legislation, a crime is committed against the British people.

Trading standards should leave people who want to use imperial measurements alone.
