WOMEN are being invited to take part in Swindon's third Race for Life, raising money for research into cancer.
Race for Life is Britain's biggest women-only fundraising event, and this year more than 250,000 women are expected to run at venues all around the country to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
The Swindon race will take place on June 9 at the Lydiard Country Park, near Wootton Bassett and has already attracted more than 200 entrants.
Women can jog or walk the 5km course, either by themselves or in a team.
Last year, sponsorship from runners in Swindon came to £121,257 with a team from Nationwide Building Society raising £14,000 alone.
The event has raised £20 million in total since 1994 and this year organisers hope to raise £12 million to help find new treatments for the disease.
Anyone wishing to take part should register in advance. It cannot be done on the day this year. For more details on joining the Race for Life visit www.raceforlife.co.uk or call 08705 134314.
