SALISBURY City player-manager Steve Richardson admitted his side was heading for the drop after Saturday's disappointing 4-1 defeat at home against ten-man Stafford Rangers.
"We will keep fighting and you never know," he said. "But I certainly won't be betting on us now.
"We were absolutely woeful on Saturday. It was a bad day all round. We didn't play very well and got what we deserved."
Richardson said he was particularly unimpressed by his side's recent performances following their mini-revival at the end of February.
"I think we got a bit above ourselves and stopped doing the things we had done well.
"We are not doing the hard bits, which allow you to play football," he added.
