BAD accidents on the M4 are now an all too often occurrence.
Yesterday's crash, in which two drivers died, does appear to have been prompted by the bizarre action of one driver taking a wrong turn and driving four miles along the motorway the wrong way.
It is amazing more people weren't killed or injured.
Speed, tiredness and carelessness combined with one of the busiest routes in the country is proving to be a lethal combination which needs to be addressed.
The police can give endless safety warnings, but ultimately it is down to all drivers to treat the motorway with the respect it deserves.
