HARDENHUISH Park is set to stage the Wiltshire Premier Shield final.

Chippenham Town and the Wiltshire FA have reached an agreement over the venue for the clash between the Bluebirds and Swindon Town.

Swindon, who secured their passage into the final with a 2-0 win over Wootton Bassett last Wednesday, usually play host to the showpiece event. Chippenham are expecting to hear their decision within the next few days.

Chippenham, Swindon and the Wiltshire FA will each receive a 33 per cent share of profits from the final, and Bluebirds secretary Chris Blake believes all parties stand to make more money if the final is at Hardenhuish.

He said: "I can't see why we wouldn't get 1,500 to 2,000 people in there for the final and Swindon need the money just as much as we do."

Blake is confident ground improvements at Hardenhuish Park will be complete before the Dr Martens League deadline on Monday.

Covered terracing is in place on one side and fans at Monday's game with Gloucester should have cover at the Sports Club end and a stand extension .

The Bluebirds need to obtain an A grading from the league in order to play in the Premier Division next year.

Said Blake: "I'm not sleeping too much at the moment, but come Monday it will all be finished."
