A WOMAN and her boyfriend have been left traumatised after a serious unprovoked assault in Westbury town centre on Friday night, which left the man unconscious.
The woman was confronted in Market Place by four men who were abusive to her before punching her partner to the ground.
PC Martin O'Neill of Westbury police said: "She was chased then assaulted by having her head struck against a wall and her hair pulled violently.
"Both parties involved have sustained severe bruising and cuts and the female has a suspected broken nose."
It is thought the attackers left the scene in a taxi heading towards Westbury Leigh.
The men were described as between 18 and 22, all clean-shaven with close-cropped hair.
One man wore a silver or white padded jacket, another was wearing an olive or khaki padded jacket.
