YOUNG singing star Mimi Kevan turned in a star performance at the Trowbridge civic dinner on Friday.

The talented 15-year-old from Westbury performed with style and brought the house down.

She said: "It went really well I really enjoyed it and the audience seemed to as well."

Mimi, a pupil at Matravers School, signed with manager Roger Nicholson in January and he has high hopes for her future.

He said: "I have worked in the music business all my life and Mimi is a once in a lifetime find.

"She is a very, very talented young lady and she is quite beyond her years in her understanding of music and her performance."

Mimi has already toured with the Telewest Roadshow and performed at the Longleat fun day last year.

She will be recording at the London Road studios in Bath next week.

Mr Nicholson said: "I have absolute belief that she will get a deal, and a good one, this year. I think she has international stardom coming her way."

Mimi, who has the full support of her parents, Sue and Bill, and her brother, Lee, keeps her feet firmly on the ground.

She is doing her GCSEs this year and hopes to study A levels.
