PROJECTS in Lea and Hullavington received a boost last week as the district council spent leftover cash from this year's budget.
Lea and Garsdon Primary School is trying to raise money to build two new classrooms, while Hullavington Parish Council needs money to make its cemetery safer.
Hullavington had already asked the Malmesbury Area Committee for £675 towards the project, but councillors decided to give the village extra.
The district council had £995 in the pot for small grants that it had not spent, so it added this to the cash it was already intending to give to the two projects.
Hullavington received £959 and Lea and Garsdon £958. the extra pound went to the cemetery because the council's accountants do not like working in 50ps.
"It was a big boost to the funding we are looking for," said Hullavington parish councillor, Maggie Bawden.
The cash will be used to move the entrance of Hullavington's cemetery away from a dangerous bend.
