VILLAGERS have defended an x-rated community website that posts stories of threesomes, sado-masochism and drug taking.

Residents have been exchanging juicy tittle-tattle after village newcomer, Emma Doyle, introduced herself on the website last month and invited other villagers to contact her.

Since then villagers have flocked to the site to swap tales of sexual shenanigans.

But councillors have condemned some of the exchanges as inappropriate.

Cllr Bob Mizen said: "Some of the exchanges could make us look like a fairly unfriendly community.

"It is turning into a bit of a private debating team between four or five people.

"They are livening things up a bit but as a registered user it does put me off posting messages on the site."

But not everyone is concerned about the lewd exchanges.

Cllr Ian Smart said: "The site has become very popular and has received 1,500 hits since it began six months ago.

"It's a large site and I don't think people who are interested in the football club or the netball team are going to delve into the bulletin board."

But users have been warned that the site is being continually monitored after visitors to the board attacked the owners of the Tollgate Inn in the village in January.

Some of the sordid postings include tales of strip bars and torture dungeons.

One message from Therese Underwood, who has been branded 'the minx of Holt' on the site, said: "I had lots of fun in Cardiff, I spent the best part of the evening being chased and chasing on all fours."

Mrs Doyle replied: "You have obviously found the BDSM dungeons in Cardiff! So it was you I saw walking through the St David's Centre donning thigh high boots and a cat o' nine tails?

"I'm quite astonished, our very own Mistress of the Dungeon."

But residents say they are just getting involved in harmless banter.

Mrs Doyle, 31, of The Common, said: "There were three or four main contributors to this thread that has caused so much controversy, each of them posting their funny, witty, risqu comments and having some light-hearted fun."

The Parish Council is encouraging visitors to log on to www.thisisHolt.co.uk and has received £200 from Community First to improve it.
