HIGHWORTH Town, after their impressive run of seven games without defeat, have now conceded 11 goals in two games after their 5-1 home defeat by Cirencester Academy.
The Academy took the lead on 23 minutes with a good header from Neil Dix and added a second just before the break, Justin Miller bending a 25-yard free kick around the Highworth wall and past keeper Alan Churchward.
The visitors continued on top after the interval and two goals in four minutes from Gareth Davies and Neil Dix gave the Academy a 4-0 lead. Dave Webb pulled a goal back on 75 minutes after good work by Warren Fuller, but the Academy had the last word, Mark Belcher making it 5-1 .
Wootton Bassett slipped to fourth from bottom after falling 3-0 at Didcot.
Bassett held the home side for three-quarters of the game but in the last quarter Ian Concannon scored three in six minutes.
