A FORMER Trowbridge video shop owner charged with possessing animal pornography films for financial gain will face a crown court trial later this year.
Robert Levy, 54, of Parklands has been charged with four counts of possessing obscene material, after hundreds of videos were seized from his Trowbridge address last year.
Video and copying equipment was also taken from the scene.
Police officers studied the material and charged Levy with the offences in November.
It was alleged in a previous court appearance that 480 videos were taken from the property, 308 featuring pornographic material.
Appearing before north west Wiltshire magistrates in January, Levy opted for crown court trial. He denies all charges.
Magistrates committed the case on Thursday, which will be heard at Swindon Crown Court later this year.
