A choir from Kingsbury Hill House School narrowly missed out on winning a singing contest and following in the footsteps of former pupil, the chart-topping Pop Idol Will Young.
The 48-strong choir entered the southern regional heat of the Sainsbury's Choir of the Year 2002 contest held at the Poole Arts Centre but narrowly missed selection for the national finals, which could have brought the school a £3,000 prize.
