ON behalf of the governors I would like to congratulate the headteacher and staff of St Mary's Infants' School, Marlborough, on their Ofsted report.
The inspectors recognised the good work, both academic and pastoral.
Of particular note was the quality of teaching, the atmosphere of care within the school and, of course, the excellence of the reception classes.
I think the reports produced are a credit to the school and show the hard work and commitment put in by all.
It is clear that the school gives a great start to the education of its pupils and is a firm foundation for their future learning.
The children enjoy school, which is obvious to all visitors and was mentioned to me specifically by the inspectors during their visit.
One element which surprised the inspectors, was the degree of support given by our parents in attending meetings, returning questionnaires and helping in the classroom. This partnership is central in making our school a vibrant place of learning.
