HOW much longer is our democratically-elected government and the majority of the people going to tolerate the arrogance and selfishness of a group of people who think they own the countryside and its wildlife to do what they like with, who consider their so-called sport more important than all other issues to the extent that they are prepared to jeopardise other important matters the government is trying to get on with?
This group of people and media allies should provide real evidence that the fox is any threat to lambs, hens, pigs, etc, or accept the reality that the cruelty and suffering inflicted on such creatures is that inflicted by humans, weather and disease, much of the latter because of bad farming policies. They never have provided the evidence and even oppose those campaigning against cruelty and suffering of farm and other animals, so it is obvious they are not really concerned with the welfare of other species, only their own indulgence.
The government should just tell such people that they can no longer rely on having friends in the right places in the media, politics and commerce to mislead the public any longer, and then we can all get on with the real issues that need tackling in our countryside and society generally.
