Hats off to Wilts Premier League club Aldbourne, who despite several weekends of torrential rain have completed all of their fixtures with around four weeks of the season remaining.

The reserve side in the Junior Section have also fared well and have just five games outstanding.

League fixture secretary Philip Cook said: "The club can feel justifiably pleased with themselves."

On the other hand Stratton Crosslink, who could well be putting in a late challenge for the runners-up spot in the Premier Division, have still got 11 games to play. They visit the much improved Bradford Town this weekend.

Premier leaders Shrewton United look home and dry with 63 points from 24 games with just one defeat all season. They are in Addkey Senior Cup semi-final action against Devizes Town Reserves and in the other semi Melksham Town Reserves play Biddestone.

Second-in-the-table Wroughton, who at one time looked like mounting a challenge on the leaders, are at home to bottom club Cricklade Town who have had a dreadful season but seem to be seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

Marlborough Town going through a dire spell are at home to Purton Reserves who could well come away the points.

Intermediate leaders Blunsdon United are at home to Dunbar Westside, the only club in the league who could realistically mount a challenge on their leadership. Although they would be pleased with a point a victory would set the alarm bells ringing in the Blunsdon camp.

Unbeaten leaders of the Junior Section Wootton Bassett United face Castrol Reserves and will be flat out to conserve their impressive record.
