ADAM WILLIS hopes to take the centre ground rather than the extreme right against Blackpool tomorrow.
We are talking positions rather than politics of course.
Willis played in an unfamiliar right wing back role at Bloomfield Road earlier in the season and it was not the happiest of afternoons for the former Coventry man.
He said: "We lost 1-0 and I think it is fair to say that I was playing in an unfamiliar position.
"But if the gaffer asks you to do a particular job then you have to do it to the best of your ability.
"However, I do feel more comfortable in the centre of defence."
Willis of course is the Town player with the unusual distinction of having been signed by Steve McMahon but then never played under him.
The Blackpool boss was axed from his job at the County Ground before Willis had the opportunity to pull on a first team shirt.
The player believes the return of McMahon could not have come at a better time for the club.
He said: "I know there is still quite a lot of 'feeling' around the town about Steve McMahon. If that leads to a few more supporters coming along then all the better. This club needs its fans like never before."
But the only manager Willis wants to impress tomorrow is Andy King.
The 25-year-old has been of one of the most consistent performers since coming into the side at the end of January.
Alan Reeves' loss (through suspension) has very much proved to be Willis' gain.
But whether or not the central defender will be lining up for Town next season remains to be seen.
Willis is one of the 'dirty dozen' players out of contract and he is desperate to earn a new deal.
He said: "It is still unclear just what is happening. We know that the gaffer will not retain everyone. There are six games left to impress."
