ANDY King admits he did cross swords with Steve McMahon during the pair's time at Everton but the Town boss has great respect for what the Blackpool boss has achieved.
"We had our 'discussions' when he was just a kid at Everton but you cannot afford to look back in football.
"Steve has just led his club to a tremendous success in the LDV final and he will bring them here on a high."
As at most other clubs, transfer deadline day passed quietly at the County Ground.
King said: "The phone (now reconnected) has been quiet. I have not had one inquiry.
"As a manager it is the first such occasion that I haven't been running around frantically trying to finalse deals, either in or out."
