A FUN Run to help raise money for a village school is being planned in Chiseldon.
Chiseldon Parent Teacher Association works alongside the village's school and the community to help raise money for the school and help the children to achieve more.
Money raised by the PTA in the last 12 months has contributed towards a major extension to the school a classroom of the future which is a multipurpose classroom suitable for traditional teaching as well as multimedia skills.
The Fun Run, which will be on Sunday, May 19, has been an annual event for many years and is regularly supported by around 400 people running a five-mile route.
Last year's event had to be cancelled due to the foot and mouth crisis. In 2000 the event raised £1,500, and it is hoped that the money raised in this year's event will exceed that figure.
The support of local businesses is vital to the success of the event and to help cover the costs involved, ensuring the maximum amount of money raised goes towards supporting the children to get the maximum benefit from school.
If you are interested in taking part or wish to help in sponsoring the event, call Steve Thompson, sponsorship co-ordinator, on Swindon 740926.
