HANDSOME men in dark green uniforms made their first visit to Swindon and made their mark on a packed house at the Wyvern.
The musicians of the Band of Brigade of Gurkhas were brilliant and unpredictable.
They were special guests at Swindon Male Voice Choir's Spring concert, in an evening of exciting Nepalese music and dance, a hilarious story of Goldilocks, to traditional English songs and hits of Shirley Bassey. The audience never knew what to expect!
The show's success enabled the presentation of £2,000 to St John's Ambulance, and £1,500 to the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
In the buzz of conversation on the way out, this comment by an elderly lady to her younger companion was heard: "I loved the three trombonists coming into the audience, I just wish one had sat on my lap!"
