ANDY KING denies he is trying to emulate Claudio Ranieri but admits he would love to use the rotation system during Town's Bank Holiday programme.
With two matches to play in the space of 48 hours, the Town boss is unlikely to use the same starting 11 against both Blackpool and Stoke City.
But a lot is dependent on a good result today and avoiding further injuries.
King said: "Ranieri has internationals he can swap around. I don't. This weekend will be a special Andy King Second Division rotation system.
"Richard McKinney will be given a start and perhaps a couple of other players who have not been involved before.
"But I have so few players and injuries piling up, that it will be more difficult than I had hoped."
Giuliano Grazioli (stomach), Sol Davis (groin) and Paul McAreavey (calf) definitely miss the Blackpool clash, while Alan Reeves completes his five-match ban.
But the Town boss is relishing the visit of the Seasiders.
He said: "Steve McMahon and I have had our moments over the years but he was a winner on the pitch and he is determined to succeed as a manager.
"I love winning as well and I am looking forward to the challenge as we have yet to cross paths as managers.
"I realise the end of his time at Swindon wasn't good but you move on in life. All he will want is three points for Blackpool."
King was hoping that three points this afternoon would rubber-stamp safety.
But a win against Blackpool will not be the cue for players to simply coast through the remaining games.
The Town boss said: "The target of 60 points is there to go for.
"Nothing would upset me more than for us to 'just avoid' the relegation zone. I won't accept finishing 18th if we can mathematically finish higher."
At least King went into this afternoon's match knowing his players had been paid.
He said: "There has been more uncertainty around the place this week while the administration was being finalised but one thing I will say is that the spirit and togetherness at this club, players and office staff, has been tremendous."
The manager has faith that administration is the way forward for Swindon Town but he does fear that the current financial woes of lower division clubs will see a close season casualty.
He said: "I fear that someone will go this summer. Hopefully, with the administration now in place, it will not be us."
Town's Under 19s were due to face West Bromwich Albion today in their latest Merit League encounter.
