NEIL RUDDOCK could miss the rest of the season if scans reveal a broken bone in his left foot.
The player-coach is easing his way back into action following a knee injury but a knock sustained in Wednesday's reserve game with Portsmouth could yet prove to be serious.
Ruddock said: "It's typical. You are making good progress coming back from one injury and then you get a knock somewhere else.
"It is my kicking foot so I will probably have an X-ray to see if it is just badly bruised or if there is a break.
"I went in for a challenge and clattered the top of my foot.
"Hopefully it will just prove to be bruising because a break would bring an end to my season playing-wise."
Although not involved against Blackpool, Ruddock is looking to welcome Steve McMahon to the County Ground, although he knows that will not go down too well with the Town faithful.
He said: "I came up against Steve a few times when I was with Liverpool and he was at Manchester City. He was a committed midfielder and I've probably a few bruises left that he gave me. But he was never a dirty player.
"He is a family friend as well but I gather he is not what you would call 'Mr Popular' in Wiltshire."
Ruddock, like his manager, wants to see a strong end to the campaign.
He said: "We don't want our season to end on a low. The lads are confident and we want to keep picking up points."
Ticket prices for Monday's game at Stoke City are: £17 (adults), £10 (juniors and concessions). Further details on 01793 333777.
