A TIRELESS Swindon charity worker is hoping to give 100 of the town's old folk a taste of the good old days next month.
John Holmes, owner of Faringdon Road-based Holmes Music, has organised an outing to Turner's old time music hall in Northampton.
With the assistance of generous businesses and organisations, Mr Holmes is hoping to arrange the day out free of charge on April 24.
"In the past there have been tears of joy on the trips we have done," he said.
"I hope we can repeat this event again in April as it will be the best day they have enjoyed for a long time."
The day starts with a reception at the Thistle Hotel hosted by Swindon mayor David Cox.
The pensioners travel by coach to Northampton, enjoy lunch and afternoon entertainment, which includes a ride on the merry-go-round.
Mr Holmes is appealing to local businesses and residents to help fund the cost of the £1,800 outing.
