STEVE McMahon was less than graceful in defeat.

The Blackpool boss felt his team had created enough chances to win the match.

He also accused Andy King's side of 'doing their utmost' to have Darren Dunning sent off after the midfielder's early booking.

McMahon said: "I thought the referee did well and refused to buckle under pressure."

McMahon was well aware that the red carpet had not been laid out for his return but he gave no indication of being at all bothered by the heckling he received.

He said: "It didn't bother me. If the Swindon supporters had spent as much time encouraging their own players as they did having a go at me, they might have performed better."

As for the football, McMahon felt his team had looked rather tired.

He said: "Our final ball wasn't the best, we probably had as much possession as them, they were just a little bit hungrier than we were that was the difference, I'm disappointed overall."

McMahon felt it could have been a different game had Scott Taylor's eighth minute header found the net rather than the crossbar.

"It should have been a goal and that would have set us up nicely, we hit the bar again in the second half and we created chances to have got a goal, we did worry them at times but our overall play was not brilliant."
