TAKE the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, mix the talents of Swindon's Sheila Harrod and Kentwood and you have a feast of music excellence second to none.
This is the only way I can describe the Queens Jubilee Concert at the Wyvern last Wednesday evening.
It is a pity that the Queen could not have been there to hear how the full house of enthusiastic music lovers reacted to every item on the menu.
I could not choose one item to select as outstanding because every piece would merit my highest praise.
When the band's conductor Wing Commander Rob Wiffin announced the first item The Royal Air Force March Past it brought back memories for me of the four years I spent in the RAF, and the opportunities I was given to become a trained musician.
I could have been sat up there on stage with this fabulous band of musicians in the years that have passed by. But I am so pleased that I was able to share this evening of music that was just mouth-watering and the taste of every item we were given will stay for me, as a feast of music that will never be forgotten.
Bon Appetit
