Cirencester Town will be going Dutch to celebrate the completion of their new £2 million Corinium Stadium.

The club, who play in the Dr Martens Western Division, are to introduce a new coaching programme for youngsters based on the Dutch Youth programme recognised as one of the best in the world.

Jan Melchers, a National Staff Coach from the Netherlands, will conduct a six-day course at Ciren's new stadium which is set to be unveiled in May.

The programme, which begins on July 20, will examine technique, insight and communication in a game environment.

The coaches will explain why the 'Dutch Vision' produces so many two-footed players who are comfortable in any position on the pitch.

Paul Cooper, youth development director at Cirencester Town explained:

"The course is designed to compliment existing FA courses available, and we aim to expose youth coaches and players to different coaching programmes from around the world to broaden their ideas and knowledge of the game."

International coaching will become a permanent fixture at Ciren, and is set to expand over the next two years, with both Dutch and Brazilian training methods introduced.

The Cotswold club have always been very progressive in youth football, having founded a successful Academy side in 1995.
