A GROUP of young Swindon people who will be helping to construct a medical centre in Kenya are looking for sponsors to help fund their trip.
They are going to Oyugis in west Kenya, near Lake Victoria, to help local volunteers raise awareness about Aids and fight ill health.
Sarayana Little, 19, the main organiser of the trip, visited Kenya last year to do voluntary work with Jesus and Me (JAM), a community project working against the effects of Aids.
On her return trip she will be accompanied by her dad John Little, 52, her sister Alice Little, 17, and 19-year-old Lydia Burles, who is studying at Leeds University.
Also going with her are New College first year 17-year-old students Ruth Clarke, Katy Godwin, Michelle Clarke, Nicola Johnson, James Horsnall, John Deacon, Emily Danvers and Alistair Smith.
The group will be paying for their own flights and expenses but need to raise another £4,000 for the cost of building materials and equipment before their departure on July 6.
They are also appealing to drugs companies to donate medical supplies for the centre.
Anyone who can help their cause should contact Sarayana on Swindon 619687.
