North Wessex Downs, home to the Avebury World Heritage site and the White Horse at Uffington, will be the subject of a new plan trying to conserve and enhance its landscape.
The Charter and Landscape Assessment will be launched on April 16 and aims to protect rare butterfly and plant species as well as archaeological and historic sites.
The area was designated an area of outstanding natural beauty in 1972 because of its diverse landscape.
