AFTER avoiding the barbers for ten years Jamie Brown has gone from one extreme to the other and done away with his locks completely.
The 30-year-old assistant manager at the Hire Station, Old Town, went under the clippers to raise cash for his girlfriend's god-daughter.
Three-year-old Megan Whittaker suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Leigh's Disease, which affects the muscles and means she may never be able to walk or talk.
Jamie raised £500 which will be used to buy Megan some specialist equipment.
Afterwards he said: "It feels a lot better, it was really beginning to annoy me it was getting in the way all the time. I've got no regrets."
But his girlfriend Claire Whittaker, 21, seemed less convinced about the new look. She said: "It's the first time I've seen him with short hair and it's quite a shock. I think it looks quite funny at the moment, but hopefully it will grow on me."
