RAMSBURY: The landlord of the Crown and Anchor praised the fire brigade and the community after a blaze broke out at the pub on Sunday morning. Firefighters from Ramsbury, Marlborough, Hungerford and Westlea tackled the blaze in a first floor room which was badly damaged and stopped it spreading to the rest of the pub.
Philip Summers, who owns and runs the free house with his partner Marina Marcolongo, said:
"If it hadn't been for the fire brigade there wouldn't be a pub. The Ramsbury fire crew were here in no more than five minutes and I cannot praise them too highly."
