A MAN was due to appear in court today after a woman suffered serious injuries falling from a moving car near Swindon.
Police believe the woman may have jumped from the car, which was travelling between Swindon and Lechlade.
She was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital with injuries the police described as "fairly serious".
The injured woman and her male companion were travelling in a blue Ford Escort when the incident happened.
Police investigating the case have appealed for witnesses. They said the woman fell from the car late on Sunday evening.
A 37-year-old Swindon man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and three motoring offences, including a drink drive charge. He was due to appear today at Swindon Magistrates Court.
Swindon Police inspector Dave McMullin said: "Tests are being carried out at PMH to determine the extent of the woman's injuries."
