CLAIRE and H from Steps will appear at this year's Wiltshire Festival.

The former Steps stars will appear at Lydiard Park alongside Mis-Teeq, A1 and Liberty X.

Details of the Party in the Park were today released, together with the Classical Proms Extravaganza.

Both events will be held in mid-August and are likely to attract tens of thousands of music fans.

The initial list of acts is likely to be added to nearer the event.

Promoter Eddie Sharpe said: "We have tried to put a bill together of top artists to please all the family and what we announce now is not the finish, there will be more bands added.''

Claire and H caused the split of Steps by announcing they were leaving to pursue solo careers.

They have now teamed up as a double act and have released a single called DJ. The pair have also been appearing as guest presenters on ITV's Saturday morning show SMTV.

Garage act Mis-Teeq, reached number eight with the debut single Why, number two with All I Want and two number five positions with One Night Stand and B With Me.

A1 were a big hit last year as a late replacement for the band 5ive.

Another of the festival bands, Liberty X, are the product of ITV's Popstars and have been set up to rival the show's winner Hear'Say.

Other acts set to appear include 3SL, Honeytrap and Aurora, and TV's All Stars.

And veteran band The Drifters will also appear at the concert.

The Party in the Park will be held on Sunday, August 25. It will be preceded on Friday, August 23, with the Classical Proms Extra-vaganza.

The classical concert has a new format this year featuring Summer Swing.

The English National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jae Alexander will play the music of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin brought back to the top by Robbie Williams and the blockbuster movie Oceans 11.

Comedian Bobby Davro and friends will be creating their own tribute to the Rat Pack.

In the second half it will be back to the classics with the 1812 Overture, Pomp and Circum-stances and the Union Jack-waving Jerusalem.

Mr Sharpe said: "We have again tried to add more to this year's classical with the introduction of the classic music of Sinatra and his pals."

The soloists are soprano Sarah Ryan and bass baritone Lawrence Beaman.

Around £10,000 of fireworks will end the classical concert.
