DRAMA students have passed their exams with flying colours.
The 21 students scooped distinction in speech and drama exams set by Victoria College in London.
They were taught by John Williams, speech and drama coach, at Churchfields School.
"The exams gave the students the chance to work on a variety of texts, enabling them to develop confidence and enhance performance skills,'' said John. It is the second time that students from the school have passed with distinction.
since the scheme began last year and John is so delighted with the pass rates that he hopes to continue the project in the autumn.
The syllabus offers public speaking, interview skills, and oral communication.
"Again this helps to develop confidence and effective preparation for the candidates,'' said John
"It is not just an acting and group drama.''
The following students were awarded distinction in their exams: Kayleigh Beard, Kate Britton, Natalie Curtin, Kirsty Ellis, Claire Fisher, Kathryn Froud, Robert Griffin, Fiona Harding, Jennifer Holley, Laura Keogh and Sophie Knott.
The students that were awarded merit were Kayleigh Kyson, Liam Lumsden, Gemma Osbourne and Danielle Scott.
There were five external candidates who also gained distinction: Emily Bratt, Sam Greenhaigh, Helena Vagnolini and Clare Chadwick.
"I am sure parents, friends and the school are pleased and proud with the results,'' said John.
