A WOMAN will be swapping the pavements of Chippenham for a gruelling trek on the Great Wall of China.
Julie Swales of Buckingham Road, Pewsham is already in training for the 63km hike along the Great Wall of China.
Mrs Swales, who works at Pearce and May chartered accountants in Chippenham, said she was very excited about the adventure.
"I have always wanted to go to China. I heard something on the radio about a charity walk along the wall wall and decided that was for me."
The trek will raise money for the county's GWR Community Trust Fund.
Participants must raise at least £2,000 before flying to China in September.
Mrs Swales is supported on her training walks by husband Bob, a civil servant.
She said: "He has been wonderfully supportive and is out walking with me almost every night of the week. I have also been cycling and just keeping fit."
