MALMESBURY School friends Sarah Milton and Joanna Sparrow are following in the footsteps of sisters Susannah and Carly by fundraising for a trip of a lifetime to Tanzania.
Sarah, 15, of Little Somerford, and Joanna, 16, of Willow View Close, Malmesbury, are joining 13 other classmates for the month-long trip in July next year, organised by World Challenge.
They expect to be working in a school or orphanage. Both of their sisters, who are now at university, spent the summer working in Borneo two years ago.
Before jetting off, each youngster has to raise £3,000 for the adventure.
On Bank Holiday Monday, the girls set up a cake stall in The Market Cross, Malmesbury, to help swell their funds and raised £125.
Each has raised about £1,500 and will be making up the rest through part-time jobs. "We are confident of reaching the total," said Sarah, who works at Little Somerford Residential Home, while Joanne works part-time at Malmesbury's Gable House Surgery.
Anyone interested in sponsoring the girls can call Malmesbury School on (01666) 829700.
