STUDENTS at The Corsham School are building a reputation for high quality consultancy work and business partners.
At least 70 students from Years 10 and 12 have been working with Andy Moore, product development manager of DS Smith PLC, a company which is launching corrugated cardboard speakers, Soundpax, the latest innovation in home audio.
Eddie Sims, head of economics and business at the school, said pupils had been involved in the research, design, marketing and promotion publicity for the fun, funky and incredibly lightweight speakers.
"The project has helped all students with the school studies and given them a real insight into the business world. This is the sort of positive project we like," said Mr Sims.
Other projects include writing a business plan for an internet caf and rewriting the human resources schedule for a logistics company.
Headteacher Martin Williams said: "These projects promote high quality learning and prepare students for the reality of work and employment."
Mike Alvis, DS Smith Packaging's sales director said the response to the speakers was tremendous.
