BANK holiday visitors to Westonbirt Arboretum were treated to the best display of spring flowers in living memory.
A unique set of weather conditions has combined to produce so many blossoms that branches are drooping under the weight of this year's flowers.
The arboretum has one of the largest collections of spring flowering shrubs in the country and nature is showing off a dazzling display.
"Camellias, magnolias and rhododendrons are looking particularly good this year," said Westonbirt events manager, Matthew Haynes.
"Some plants are literally drooping under the weight of hundreds of flower buds and the bluebells in Silk Wood are absolutely fantastic."
The display is thanks to a warm, moist winter and early spring, which together have produced perfect growing conditions.
The weather has created this exhibition of flowering beauty and the experts at the arboretum say the weather will determine how long it lasts.
However, they described the flowering display over the bank holiday as a botanical treat like no other.
