CHURCHES in Chippenham are working together to support Christian Aid Week, and hope to raise thousands of pounds for people living in poverty.
The churches will run a house-to- house collection during the week May 12 to 18.
The collection usually raises around £9,000, and this year projects to benefit from the cash include fostering international trade for Ghana, Honduras and the Philippines, and justice for poorer nations.
A special service for Christian Aid Week will be held at the Sheldon Road Methodist Church on May 12 at 6.30pm, with a guest speaker from Christian Aid.
Anyone whose home is not visited and who wishes to make a donation, should contact the St Paul's parish office on (01249) 444771.
