PURTON completed a swift double over Old Woodstock Town to end their season on a high note.
On Saturday Steve Tucker chalked up his 31st goal of the season when they beat Old Woodstock 2-1 at the Red House in their last league game of the season.
Purton took an early lead when Michael Silvanus was upended in the box and Tucker duly tucked away the spot-kick.
Honours were even for the rest of the half with both sides keeping a bit in hand for today's final.
Five minutes after the interval the home side struck again when a great cross by Silvanus was met by Tucker who unleashed a powerful volley into the net.
The visitors pushed forward and were rewarded seven minutes from time when a long ball into the Purton box was pushed onto the bar by keeper Luke Alford and John Umney was on hand to head the rebound into the net.
The goal resulted in a few anxious last minutes for the home side but they held on for victory, the three points ensuring them of fourth spot in the Division One West section.
On Monday Two goals in extra-time gave Purton a 3-1 victory in an exciting of the Hellenic Supplementary Cup.
After a goalless first half Woodstock took the lead through Andy Bunny after 65 minutes.
Time looked to be running out for the Wiltshire side but on 84 minutes Alan Webb scored to take the tie into extra time.
On 101 minutes Purton took the lead when Avenall was upended in the box and Steve Tucker scored from the spot.
Two minutes later it was 3-1 as Avenall bundled the ball over the line.
