MAGISTRATES have ordered a Swindon man to live away from town after he admitted carrying out two assaults.
Yassin Jama, 23, of Amer Place, Eldene, pleaded guilty to the offences, which resulted from a domestic incident with his 22-week pregnant partner in the early hours of May 2.
Prosecuting, Frank Murphy said police were called following reports of screaming from a first floor flat. "Forced entry was made and the defendant was found within,"
Mr Murhpy said. "The injured party was found in the lavatory, very distressed, with blood around her mouth and nose. CS spray was used to control the defendant."
Mr Murphy added that a policewoman was assaulted in the course of Jama's arrest.
In mitigation, Tony Nowogrodzki said his client had been arguing with the woman and had left the house, before returning intoxicated.
He said the pair resumed arguing on his return and an incident occurred as he tried to leave the house again.
Magistrates adjourned the matter until August 22, bailing Jama on condition he live with family in Enfield, have no contact with named witnesses and does not enter Wiltshire for any other reason than court.
