WROUGHTON Airfield is to be filled with mechanical marvels when it becomes the stage for this year's Try-Drive show.

Visitors will have the chance to try their hands at driving a range of unusual vehicles, be it a double decker bus, a JCB or a tank.

Cancelled last year because of foot and mouth disease restrictions, the show will take place on June 29 and 30 from 10am to 5pm and is expected to attract hundreds of visitors.

Attractions also include displays by cycle and skateboard stunt artists Team Extreme, and motorcycle stunt team Over the Top.

The day will also include fairground entertainment, helicopter rides and the chance to look around the Science Museum's national collection. Numerous vehicle clubs will also be present.

Organised by Swindon and Wiltshire road safety units, the event is self-funding.

Charities or craftspeople are encouraged to set up stalls at the event.
