NEW areas of Salisbury that could have a booze ban slapped on them are going out to public consultation.
District councillors have agreed new zones they would like to see added to those areas of Salisbury already covered by a ban on drinking alcohol in public places, which include the Market Square and the central car park.
Under the proposals, new areas would include the Greencroft, Bourne Hill Gardens, the swimming pool area and the College Street car park, as well as all five underpasses on the city's relief road between St Mark's roundabout and the Exeter Street roundabout.
Phil Rawlinson, community safety officer for the district council, emphasised the need for public comment, including by local businesses.
