I WAS incensed when I read the article 'On track for a ban' (EA, May 2).
I do not drive a 4x4, ride a bike or even walk the Ridgeway but I respect others' right to do so.
If a ban is to be put upon some users of the Ridgeway it should apply to all.
May I remind your readers of the damage walkers have done to the Lake District national park.
They also cause distress and damage to farmers, landowners, their families, stock and crops.
I agree that our ancient landscape should be respected, but not by excluding some and not others.
A driver and/or passenger of any vehicle can and should be able to appreciate the landscape and views of this magnificent country.
Above all, all changes to the law, or right of access, should be fair to all.
