PRIMARY SCHOOLS in west Wiltshire have been given a cash boost to build golden jubilee wildlife gardens.
West Wiltshire District Council gave £250 each to Forest & Sandridge Primary School in Melksham, The Mead Community Primary School in Trowbridge, Dilton Marsh Primary School and Westbury Infants School this week.
The money will help towards building a wildlife garden at each of the schools, in co-operation with the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.
Presenting the cheques, the chairman of West Wiltshire District Council, Alison Irving, said: "Wiltshire Wildlife Trust has been working with these four schools to help them develop gardens that are friendly to wildlife and the environment to commemorate the Queen's Golden Jubilee this summer.
"I am delighted that the council has been able to help fund these projects which will be enjoyed by pupils today and in the years to come."
