TROWBRIDGE LEAGUE: TROWBRIDGE Town Reserves completed a league and cup double when they lifted the Division Two Cup (sponsored by Taylor Kitchens and Bedrooms of Trowbridge) by beating Freshford United 1-0.
The only goal of the game came in the second half scored by Dave Percival.
United were in action again in Division Two of the League (sponsored by Premier Training and Development) on Friday night against Rudloe. In the first half defences were on top but Freshford took control in the second half. Russell Stritch's header from a free kick on 77 minutes won the game for United. Visitors Rudloe might have snatched a point, Matt Dancey missing a great opening and Charles Young hitting a post.
Relegated Bratton Reserves went 1-0 down against Hilperton United in the second half. The home side battled back to earn a point with Jamie Bloor's goal.
In Division Three, Premier Rover earned both points against Hilperton United Reserves with a goal in each half from Mark Jones.
At the weekend, Rovers could only raise seven men and little transport for their trip to Dynamo West End. The game will be rearranged for next week. Cross Keys Rowde also failed to raise a side for a trip to Broughton Gifford Reserves.
